Most women come to me wanting to lose weight. They feel that once they do that, they will finally be able to make peace with their bodies. I always tell them, that it actually works the other way around.
Find
peace within yourself, learn to embrace the body that you’re currently in, learn to eat in tune with the body’s natural hunger signals, and if weight loss is meant to happen it will.
What I mean by that is that every body has a natural weight set point. This is the weight the body naturally settles
at. You can go below that by strict dieting but afterwards, the body will begin to climb back to the weight it naturally feels best at. This weight is often higher than the weight we would like it to be.
When you begin to honor your body and feel peace and acceptance with it, this fact will probably
not even bother you. Most of my client’s value peace of mind more than a number on a scale. They are tired of the struggle and just want to feel good in their own skin.
Recently I had the pleasure of conducting an interview with one of my former clients, Jacqueline. She too came to me wanting to
lose weight but she got so much more out of our work together. After a lifetime of struggling with her body and trying to whip it into submission, with my help, she was able to have a completely different relationship with her body.
