New Year’s is a new beginning and a time when we want to make changes. If you’re like many people you’ve probably made some New Year’s resolutions. The problem with these is that by Valentine’s Day most people have already given up on them.
If you’re one of these people, why not try something different? The only way to get different results in life is by doing something different.
Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about aliveness. You see, as a person who has coached hundreds of people for over 15 years, I find that most people I know are really on autopilot, just going through the motions, and not really living their lives to their fullest potential. They’ve spent their lives doing what they were supposed to do by family and society’s
standards but are unsure of what they really would like to do. Or some do have an idea but don’t have the courage and confidence to go after it.
I also find that a lot of people who come to me with long time food issues are using food as a smokescreen and avoidance tactic. Underneath it all, they really don’t know who they are and because of that, they lack true passions and interests. Food and weight obsession fills up that empty void within them.
I can relate to these people because for many of my earlier years I was lost and food and weight obsession helped to cover that up for me. Just recently, in the past few years, I found myself discontented, a bit burned out being a solo online entrepreneur, and knew I needed to make some changes but wasn’t sure what direction I should go in.
Then a major crisis hit. I decided to move my website to a new hosting platform and despite being told I wouldn’t lose any traffic, the company who did the move lost all my google rankings and web traffic. Overnight, I basically lost my business. No one could find me anymore!
