A big part of the process of change involves learning to reframe mistakes and failure. Many of us expect ourselves to do things perfectly. We don’t allow ourselves the time to be
in the learning curve where it’s only natural to make mistakes and to stumble and fall. What we say to ourselves when we make mistakes can make the difference between success and failure.
If after making a mistake you tell yourself, “Oh, what’s the use, it’s hopeless anyway,” that pretty much guarantees your
failure.Next time you make a mistake or hit an obstacle, ask yourself, “What can I learn from this?” Or, “How can I do better next time?”
These questions are empowering and lead not to despair but to learning and finding
solutions.
